The culmination of the Charleston Pride Festival is the Parade and Rally which takes place on Saturday, August 9th in downtown Charleston, South Carolina. Thousands will line the streets of historic downtown Charleston to come out to celebrate diversity and to support equal rights for all citizens.
The Pride Parade steps off at 9:00am on Saturday, August 9th.
The 1.8 mile parade route begins at Wragg Mall on the corners of Ann and Meeting Streets. Immediately the parade processes to King Street and heads south on King, traveling past Marion Square, the heart of downtown Charleston. Once the parade hits Broad Street, the procession takes a right and continues until Colonial Lake. Viewing of the parade is encouraged on King Street.
The Pride Rally runs from 11:00am until 3:00pm.
Following the parade, festival goers will head to Brittlebank Park (0Lockwood Blvd, Charleston, SC) and enjoy an afternoon of live music and entertainment for all ages, hosted by the incomparable Patti O’Furniture and radio personality, Mike The Guy. Vendors will sell their wares and food trucks will feed the masses. This is an afternoon you won’t want to miss!
